Durga Puja 2015 Schedule: Bangladesh India Calendar Timings

Durga Puja 1422 will be held this year in October 2015. This year, Devi Durga will arrive mounting on Horse or Turang [War among nations] and will go back by Cradle [Destroy]. The 5 days countdown for the Durga Puja will start with the Mahalaya, which will happen on 12th October, 2015 [24th Ashwin, 1422].

Durga Puja is the universal festival of the worship of the Goddess Durga. Devi Durga is worshiped for 5 consecutive days of Navaratri, in the month of Ashwin in Bengali calendar. But, this year, the Durga Puja will be held in the month of Karthik. Devi Durga destroyed Mahishashura, the Buffalo Demon, after a 9 days long war. She killed Mahishashura with a spear while her Lion bite him with full power. This very moment is made visible by making a sculpture every year. Then, the Goddess is invited within the sculpture with the help of Mantras. Then the puja begins and ends with the Visarjan of Devi Durga.

This year, in 1422, the Durga Puja will start with the Mahalaya on 12th October, 2015.

The Panchami is on 18th October till 10:34 a.m (India) and 11:04 a.m (Bangladesh).

The Vijaya Dashami is on 23th October, 2015.

Every event will start on the previous day and end on the date written beside the event.

Sandhi Puja will end at 8:11 a.m. on 21st October, 2015.
