Durga Puja 2020 Schedule: Bangladesh India Calendar Timings

Durga Puja 1427 will be held this year in October 2020. This year, Devi Durga will arrive at Palanquin and Departure on Boat. The 5 days countdown for the Durga Puja will start with the Mahalaya, which will happen on 17th September 2020.

Durga Puja is the universal festival of the worship of the Goddess Durga. Devi Durga is worshiped for 5 consecutive days of Navaratri, in the month of Ashwin in the Bengali calendar. But, this year, the Durga Puja will be held in the month of Karthik. Devi Durga destroyed Mahishashura, the Buffalo Demon, after a 9 days long war. She killed Mahishashura with a spear while her Lion bites him with full power. This very moment is made visible by making a sculpture every year. Then, we invite the Goddess within the sculpture with the help of Mantras. Then the puja begins and ends with the Visarjan of Devi Durga.

This year, in 1427, the Durga Puja will start with the Mahalaya on 17th September 2020.

The Panchami is on 21st October 2020.

The Vijaya Dashami is on 26th October 2020.

Every event will start on the previous day and end on the date written beside the event.

Besides, Sandhi Puja will start at 7:04 a.m. and end at 7:52 a.m. on 24th October 2020.


Shashthi = 22nd October 2020

Saptami = 23rd October 2020

Ashtami = 24th October 2020

Navami = 25th October 2020

Dashami = 26th October 2020
