The time has came at 11.46am on Saturday. There was a pause, as tens of thousands in the stadium gallery and hundreds of millions around the nation realised that the moment they had long known was coming had finally arrived. Sachin Tendulkar the Little Master, perhaps the world’s most adored sporting hero, had retired. Then came the cheers: “Sachin, Sachin”.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar , the Master Blaster or God of cricket retired from cricket altogether on 16th November 2013 after playing his 200th test match against the West Indies in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
On 23 December 2012, Master Blaster announced his retirement from ODIs and from Twenty20 format in May 2013. He announced his retirement from Test Cricket on October on October10th 2013 saying he would retire after the two test matches against the West Indies at home in November 2013.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar took up cricket at age of eleven, made his test debut against Pakistan at the age of sixteen. He is the first player to score one hundred international centuries, the first player to score a double century in a one day International and thus far the only to complete 34,357 runs in international cricket. On 5 October 2013, he become the 16th player and first Indian to aggregate 50,000 runs in all recognized cricket.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has honoured many awards in his sports life but India honoured him with the Padma Vibhushan award, India’s second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India’s highest sporting honour, Tendulkar won the 2010 Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for cricketer of the year at the ICC awards. Tendulkar was nominated to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the pParliament of India in 2012. He was also the first sports person and the first one without avaiation background to be awarded the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force . In 2012 he was named as an Honorary member of the Order of Australia. And after retired from test cricket Indian Prime Minister’s Office announced the conferring of the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. 17 November 2013 he was received the award and sacrificed to all mother of India’s.
Tendulkar was born at Nirmal Nurshing Home, Bombay india on 24 April 1973. His father Ramesh Tendulkar was a reputed Marathi novelist and his mother Rajni worked in the insurance industry. Ramesh named Tendulkar after his favourite music director, Sachin Dev Burman. He has three elder siblings: two half brothers Nitin and Ajit and a half sister Savita. His height 5 ft 5 in. In cricket his nickname- Master Blaster, Tendlya, Maestro, God of Cricket, Genius, Little Master.
Sachin Married to Mrs Anjali and he has two kids- Son -Arjun and Daughter- Sara.
